Assryian Embroidery – British Museum

thumbnail_image2A series of drop in workshops in the Great Court of the British Museum in conjunction with the exhibition: I am Ashurbanipal: king of the world, king of Assyria from 8 November 2018 – 24 February 2019.

These workshops took inspiration from depictions of embellishments on garments in the Lion Hunt Relief stone carvings (around 645 BCE) that decorated King Ashurbanipal’s (668-631 BC) palace.
